Job Description:

Operate Combination Sewer Cleaning Vactor equipment to clean sanitary and storm sewer pipes within the SE Michigan Area. The successful candidates will be enthusiastic and hardworking; an organized, hands-on person with good technical and communication skills, problem solving capability, and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities:

  • Safely and professionally operate Sewer Cleaning / Vactor unit(s).
  • Mobilize to each site daily.
  • Safely operate "mainline" and "lateral" equipment.
  • Complete cleaning of small and large diameter pipes to owners’ standards.
  • Complete all required administrative paperwork (e.g., time sheets, truck mobilization/demobilization logs, schedules, etc.) accurately, and within the specified timelines.
  • Maintain excellent communication with colleagues.
  • Maintain Vactor Combination Sewer Cleaning equipment in good operating condition by adjusting, cleaning, lubricating and performing minor repairs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience operating heavy equipment/machinery.
  • Ability to plan, schedule, and undertake work safely, independently, and professionally.
  • CDL driver's license and clean driving record.

Other Requirements:

  • Flexibility to work schedule as required.
  • Punctual and reliable.
  • Ability to work out of town, for some projects, as required.
  • Ability to pass a drug test.
  • Must be in good health and physical condition to perform duties assigned.

Grout Technician

Municipal Pipe Tool Co., LLC is a sewer maintenance and rehabilitation contractor. We have been protecting the environment for more than 50 years. Job Summary

Operate and maintain CUES Grout equipment, cameras, and tractors to execute grouting, cleaning and TV work required for projects.  This could include working on Grout and CIPP prep crew.

 

Required skills:

  • Performs a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor in heavy construction projects.
  • Conduct center to center manhole identifications using robotic TV equipment per NASSCO standards.
  • Identify defects and service locations
  • Accurately fill out reports and turn in daily logs.
  • Ensure deliverables and associated reports are turned in daily.
  • Execute grouting, cleaning and TV work required for project
  • Pass out notices to residents and businesses as instructed
  • Adheres to all customer site specific safety requirements
  • Service, clean, maintain grout and camera equipment as well as assigned vehicles
  • Communicates with the jet operator and TV labor in coordinating workflow.
  • Water meter installations
  • Utilize all safety equipment, and follow standard operating procedures. Bring problems to the attention of the Superintendent or Safety Director.
  • Any other task as directed

Requirements:

  • Experienced in sewer related industry
  • Experience operating and maintaining Grout and CCTV equipment for sewers
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds or more, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
  • Must be able to enter confined spaces – examples include but are not limited to Manholes.
  • Knowledge of applicable safety precautions.
  • Knowledge of CUES grout system, cameras, logiball packers and tractors.
  • Knowledge of IT Pipes or other inspection software
  • PACP trained or ability to get.
  • Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
  • Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
  • Knowledge of jet truck operation & understanding of nozzle functions to effectively communicate with jet operator.

Responsibilities include:

  • Embrace a high level of safety on the jobsite.
  • Develop project budgets and scope of work plans, perform site visits, and review specs and drawings. Secure any permits required for the projects.
  • Troubleshoot areas of concern on existing projects. Communicate regularly and consistently with customers, engineers, sub-contractors and construction team to provide periodic complete status updates of ongoing projects. Coordinate pre-construction meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with contract requirements through a thorough familiarization and understanding of project specifications.
  • Prepare, revise and update the project schedule and job budgets. Review budgets versus actual performance with the Project Superintendent on a periodic basis and take corrective action as necessary.
  • Work directly with subcontractors and material suppliers to make certain that all submittals are in order. Manage subcontractors' schedules to ensure timely completion of work. Approve and submit subcontractor invoices for payment.
  • Ensure that all extra work is authorized in writing by the owner prior to starting additional work and all appropriate change order documentation is prepared and executed.
  • Ensure field materials are ordered and delivered timely for efficient project execution.
  • Assist with the project transfer from Estimators, including project take offs and buyout.
  • Complete sub-contracts and purchase orders as necessary.
  • Prepare and submit pay applications, RFI's, RFC's, etc. as necessary.

Minimum Requirements:

  • College degree in Construction Management or Engineering preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience of project management related to CIPP projects.
  • Estimating background helpful.
  • Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Computer proficiency, including use of Excel, Word & Outlook.
  • Ability to travel approximately 30% with overnight stays.
