NASSCO Announces Educational Events
Motor City Exchange Set for November 7 in Dearborn, Michigan
As part of NASSCO’s vision to set standards by increasing the awareness of aging underground infrastructure and providing viable solutions through education, technical resources and industry advocacy, the Association is pleased to introduce the first of many regional events – NASSCO’s Motor City Exchange.
This one-day educational event, where attendees will earn CEU or PDH credits, is set for Thursday, November 7, 2019 at the historic Lovett Hall on the grounds of the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan. Hosted in partnership with Detroit-based Doetsch Environmental Services, Inc., the event features a keynote speech by U.S. Congresswoman Debbie Dingell who represents Michigan’s 12th Congressional District. Congresswoman Dingell will share the importance of funding underground infrastructure to assess, maintain and rehabilitate aging systems.
The highly educational session will then continue with a focus on the causes of SSOs and CSOs: I&I (Infiltration and Inflow). Industry professionals will discuss the importance of pipeline:
- Assessment and the value of NASSCO’s Pipeline Assessment Certification Program (PACP®);
- Maintenance and the importance of proper cleaning, root control and addressing fats, oils and grease (FOG); and
- Rehabilitation options using existing and emerging trenchless technologies.
