The National Association of Sewer Service Companies (NASSCO) Pipeline Assessment Certification Program (PACP) is the North American Standard for pipeline condition assessment. Developed under license with the Water Research Center (WRc), PACP is the North American adaptation of the United Kingdom's TV inspection coding system. This program provides an understanding for structural, operational, construction and miscellaneous features of a pipe allowing the user to determine pipe condition for the purpose of I&I, pre acceptance, routine assessment, capital improvements, pre & post rehab survey or maintenance related programs, all collected in a standardized and consistent manner.
NASSCO has also developed the manhole assessment certification program (MACP) for coding manhole defects having incorporated ASCE manhole standards. Finally, service laterals are addressed in the LACP where fittings and access points that are unique to laterals are included, again maintaining the form and style of the PACP system.
PACP is a two day course and a prerequisite for the third day of MACP and LACP certifications. 2 day PACP is held Tuesday and Wednesday. MACP and LACP will be held Thursday. The course is set out in modules within a class environment, PowerPoint presentation and book reference, with an open book examination, multiple choice format. Each student will be expected to attain 85% pass mark to attain certification
