Manhole Assessment & Certification Program
In response to industry demand NASSCO has developed a program for the grading of defects within manholes. Recognizing that manholes are much more complex structures than pipe has made the task somewhat more difficult. However, we believe the results will be very helpful to those who need to have a reliable and consistent manhole evaluation system.
The Manhole Assessment and Certification Program (MACP) uses the established defect coding system found in the Pipeline Assessment and Certification Program (PACP) to the extent possible. We have also tried to incorporate as much of the ASCE manhole standards as possible while maintaining the form and style of the PACP.
It is NASSCO's intent to bring currently PACP certified Users and Trainers up-to-date, free of charge. PACP certified individuals may attend any available PACP/MACP class at no charge. Additionally, MACP certification classes are typically scheduled for the WEFTEC, UCT and No-Dig shows throughout the year. Because PACP is an evolving system, future additions to the program such as this MACP and the Lateral Assessment and Certification Program (LACP), and an overall QA/QC program for in-house monitoring will also be introduced to previously certified Users and Trainers.
