Lateral Assessment & Certification Program
The evolution of the Pipeline Assessment and Certification Program (PACP) has lead NASSCO into a program for defect coding in Laterals. This program is the Lateral Assessment and Certification Program (LACP). Since the defects found in Laterals are for the most part identical to those found in pipes, the defect coding in LACP is identical, in most respects, to PACP except for the addition of several codes that are unique to Laterals.
It is NASSCO’s intent to bring currently PACP certified Users and Trainers up-to-date on laterals, free of charge, using an online training program. As the PACP continues evolving we will continue searching for ways to keep all levels of PACP certificate holders up to date at no cost and with minimum inconvenience to them.
The original PACP program will shortly include training and certification on defect coding for pipes, manholes and laterals. It will also incorporate a QA/QC program for in-house monitoring of accuracy on defect coding. The near future includes the development of the Pipeline Deterioration and Assessment Program (PDAP), which we believe, will greatly enhance the value of PACP for all sewer system owners and those who support them.
