NASSCO Annual Meeting 2010 Filled with Memorable Moments

NASSCO’s 34th Annual Meeting held Feb. 12-14th at Don Shula’s Hotel & Golf Club in sunny Miami, Florida was a noted success, filled with many unforgettable moments and industry firsts. Nearly 130 NASSCO members and their guests enjoyed three days of education, training and networking.

It?s Confirmed: Our members want to be involved

Our goal is to make sure each annual meeting is better than the last, so while the memories were fresh, we conducted a short online survey among annual member attendees. Nearly 94% of our members thought the annual meeting was the same, or even better than previous years. Members continue to attend for networking (#1 response) and education (#2 response). But this year, we learned that specifically, our members attend because they truly want to become more active in NASSCO.

Save the Date for NASSCO’s 35th Annual Meeting in 2011

NASSCO’s annual meeting is exclusively for NASSCO members and is one of the many benefits of your membership. NASSCO?s 35th Annual Meeting is scheduled Feb. 16-19, 2011 at Rio Mar Beach Resort & Spa in Puerto Rico, so mark your calendars now!

In case you are concerned with the offshore location, Puerto Rico is a U.S. territory and therefore it does not require a passport for travel for U.S. citizens, the currency used is the U.S. dollar, and there are many non-stop flights from major airports, including an easy three hour direct flight from Atlanta. Also, the cost for airfare to San Juan is very reasonable, averaging roughly $284 for a round trip ticket. If there are any other concerns you have, please email Heather Myers.

New 2010 Membership Challenge---Just One!

Just One! is a new membership campaign for 2010 to help increase awareness of NASSCO and expand the membership base.

How many times have you been asked to add a $1 to a purchase you were making in order to help support a cause? Or plant a tree? These campaigns are easy for folks to participate and likewise often yield great results. In the past couple of years NASSCO has embarked on membership challenges inviting its members to recruit up to 10 new members in order to win a prize. This year we’re taking a new approach and asking you to simply find one new member this year. Of course if you’re willing and able, we’d like you to recruit as many people as possible. We’re keeping it simple this year and hoping that the Just One! campaign will produce great results. If every member participates, that means we’ll have 368 new members in one year! If 80% of our current members participate, we’ll add 294 new members.

It’s easy! Simply tell a colleague, send an email and help spread the word about the many benefits of NASSCO membership. Click here for some tips.

A drawing will be held at the end of the year and a prize of $1,000 will be awarded. Each new member you recruit will give you an additional entry into the raffle. It?s simple and easy for everyone to participate. It’s Just One! and it’s fun! Please join this membership recruitment effort.
