NASSCO Members Answer the Call for the 8 in '08 Challenge
"We're thrilled that our membership is excited about this new campaign that awards members for what they already do great - referring new members to NASSCO!,"
said NASSCO's Operations Manager Heather Myers. NASSCO's goal is to double its membership by Dec. 2010. This early momentum will help us reach our goal.
A reminder of how the 8 in '08 Challenge works:
- Secure 8 new NASSCO members in 2008 and you will receive a $1,000 American Express gift card.
- Secure 6 new members and receive a $500 American Express gift card.
- Secure 5 new members and you'll receive a $100 gift certificate from Omaha Steaks.
That's not all new members that are "contractors" will be counted twice. That means if you refer four contractors that counts as 8 new members and you're a
$1,000 winner! As you know, NASSCO was founded as a contractor organization and is proud to have grown to become the leading organization for anyone involved in the rehabilitation
of underground utilities. However, over the years, the number of contractor members has not grown as rapidly as other titles. NASSCO hopes this incentive will help us increase the
number of contractor members in addition to other titles in its membership.

Grout Bootcamp a Success
Four companies (Aries Industries, de neef Construction Chemicals, Avanti International, and Logiball, Inc.), often competitors, joined together to conduct a grout bootcamp at
NASSCO's new headquarters office in Owings Mills, MD, April 8th-10th. The extensive three-day educational session was held in the heated warehouse space, a more than 1,000 square
foot area with a roll up garage door that can accommodate a truck and other equipment. Over 20 attendees learned about everything from understanding sewer lines and infiltration to component maintenance,
repair, operation and everything in between. "This experience has been extremely valuable. I have learned more in the past two days about grouting than I have over the past year on the job," said Dwayne Dowell
from the City of Fruitland, MD. "The experiences shared by other attendees have been very informative."
